Welcome to the Buffalo Trace Page!

Buffalo Trace is the most recently organized chaper of the KMCA.  This area covers the five counties of Bracken, Robertson, Mason, Lewis and Fleming.  The Buffalo Chapter often schedules meetings in conjunction with the Bluegrass and Gateway Chapters.

Report to KMCA

The Following Chapter Report was offered for the KMCA Membership Meeting held on April 15, 2009 during Spring Conference at KY Dam Village.
BUFFALO TRACE – JOY ROARK The Buffalo Trace clerks are still meeting with the Bluegrass and Gateway clerks. Due to budget constraints we are meeting every other month now and our focus has been on visiting different cities within our regions that have not been participating for whatever reason. We’ve found that there are several who have limited office staff, a lack of funding, and unfortunately some who have no support from their mayor/council. In an effort to reach out to other clerks in our regions we have taken our meetings ‘on the road’. Last year we visited with the City of Augusta and were well received. Bill Mineer, Finance Officer with the BTADD, provided our training. A tentative schedule is already in place for 2009 and we still have a long list of cities to contact for 2010.

The following report was submitted for the April 16, 2008 KMCA Membership Meeting held in Jeffersontown.

We meet every two months with Bluegrass and Gateway. We alternate in chairing the meetings. We have concerns about how to get new and older clerks involved; hopefully we can come up with some good ideas. We awarded two scholarships in honor of Faye Davis, Kay Wortham and Liz Damrell who have retired.
