Spring Conference 2010

KMCA IS GOING GREEN IN THE BLUEGRASS STATE!

April 14 - 16 will be the dates for the 2010 Spring Conference, hosted by the Northern Kentucky Clerks in Covington!  Return to the Radisson Riverview for great views, great fun, and a great conference!   We know that everyone has tight budgets - and we have worked hard to provide a great conference at a great price!  Early registrants will pay only $150 for the training and six meals!  (This will include breakfast on Wed., Thurs., Fri.; lunch on Wed. and Thurs.; and the banquet on Thurs.)  We also got a great deal on rooms - only $109 a night at our recently remodeled hotel!

Click here for the registration form - the early bird cost is only $150 if post marked by 3/15/10!

KMCI Agenda for 2010

This just in from Barbara Combs!

Planning of the courses for KMCI 2010 is well underway.  The dates will be July 19-23, 2010.

The cost of the registration last year was a very low $475.00 and included five breakfasts, four lunches, breaks, banquet, trainers, handouts and networking hours in the evenings.

Students are encouraged to apply for a scholarship.  On this website, click Education and Scholarship for the criteria and the application.  Thanks to the generosity of the Kentucky League of Cities, there will additional scholarships available this year.  Regional scholarships are often available as well.  Contact your regional clerks’ organization for more information. If you belong to the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, there is another scholarship opportunity from IIMC:  Municipal Clerks Education Foundation (MCEF).

The host hotel will be the new Hilton Garden Inn of Georgetown.  An attractive room rate will be offered.  City Clerks are encouraged to share rooms and share rides to and from Lexington in order to further reduce expenditures.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

MMCA Agenda for 2010

SAVE THE DATE!  MMCA, open to all KY Municipal Clerks, will be held August 18 - 20, 2010 at Barren River State Park.

Not sure how to squeeze this valuable program into your tight budget?  The registration last year was a very reasonable $325 which included 6 meals and the Education Committee and Skills Development Institute will work hard to keep the cost as low as possible again this year!  In 2009 we were at a brand new facility in Georgetown and our group room rate was an unbelievable $79!  Still penny pinching?  Consider some split costs by carpooling to save on gas and sharing a room or cabin with fellow clerks.

Region V Meeting and Conference 2010
The next Region V Meeting will be held September 15 - 18, 2010 in Frankenmuth, MI.  More details will be posted here as soon as they become available!
Spring Conference 2009

The Pennyrile and Purchase Clerks worked together to plan a wonderful Spring Conference held April 15 - 17, 2009 at Kentucky Dam Village!  Thanks to all for their hard work and for all those who attended.  Spring Conference is not only a great chance for education in the classroom but a great chance to get together and learn from one another, too!  Everyone enjoyed the serene park setting and of course our trip to Miss Patti's for dinner together with all our peers from across the Commonwealth!

Just a reminder, if you are working toward certification and attended the 2009 Spring Conference at Kentucky Dam Village,  you need to request your certificate of hours attended.  This certificate is necessary to claim points, both for the IIMC Master Municipal Clerk program and the newly developed Kentucky Master Municipal Clerk.  Please e-mail your request to Becky Pyles, education co-chair at: bpyles@carrolltonky.net  with "2009 spring conference" in the subject line.
